After numerous leaks and rumours, the vivo X6 and X6Plus are finally official. Featuring premium build quality and mid-range specifications, both of these devices bear a striking resemblance to the newer iPhones – they even come in Rose Gold.

Aside from the similarity in design (and choice of colours) to the iPhone, the X6 and X6Plus are your typical mid-range Android devices. Other than the fact that both devices are visually similar, they are also powered by a MediaTek MT6752 1.7GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Thanks to the generous RAM size, these devices shouldn’t have too much trouble with multitasking.

Other specifications of the vivo X6 and X6Plus include a 5.2-inch (5.7-inch on the latter) 1920 x 1080 AMOLED display, a 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, an 8MP front-facing shooter, a rear fingerprint sensor, as well as dual-SIM support, where the secondary slot can accommodate a microSD card. In the battery department, the X6 has a rather small 2,400mAh battery, while the X6Plus is packed with either a 3,000mAh or 4,000mAh cell. It’s also worth noting that the X6 and X6Plus has 32GB and 64GB of built-in storages respectively.

Of course, as is the case with previous vivo devices, a lot of emphasis has been placed on the X6 and X6Plus’ audio capabilities. The latter is packed with an ES9028 DAC audio chip, an ES9603 amplifier, and a Yamaha YSS-205X digital surround sound chip, while the former has a Asahi Kaisei AK4375A DAC.

At the time of writing, the vivo X6 and X6Plus are only available in China. They go from 2,498 Chinese yuan (about RM1,660) and 2,998 yuan (approximately RM1,985) respectively.
