An unexpected announcement was made during today’s Nintendo Direct. It featured Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII will be joining the Super Smash Bros roster, and comes complete with Odin summon and an alternate costume that’s based on his Advent Children look.
Besides Cloud, Final Fantasy VII’s city, Midgar is also making an appearance in Super Smash Bros as a stage for battle. There hasn’t been a specific date however for when both the Final Fantasy character and city will make an appearance in Super Smash Bros.
This will come as a bit of a surprise for gamers alike considering that Final Fantasy VII has never been released on any Nintendo consoles before. That being said, Cloud did appear on Nintendo’s handheld, Game Boy Advance for Kingdom Hearts: Chain Of Memories.
