Acer Malaysia earlier this week has announced two new additions to its convertible 2-in-1 laptops in our market in the form of Acer One 10 and Aspire Switch 11 V (shown above). While they might look alike to each other due to their multi-function detachable form factor, each of these devices certainly correspond to different price segments.
Priced at RM 999, that price tag alone has signaled that the One 10 is meant for the budget market. Featuring a 10.1-inch IPS display with a display resolution of 1280 x 800, the laptop is powered by a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3735F quad-core processor alongside 2 GB DDR3L memory and internal 32 GB eMMC storage.
Pre-installed with Windows 10 Home, the One 10 is also equipped with 2-megapixels cameras on its front and back together with 5,740 mAh 2-cell battery that apparently able to provide up to 8 hours of battery life. Not to forget, there’s also a micro USB 2.0 and micro HDMI port on the tablet as well as a full-sized USB 2.0 port on the tablet’s keyboard dock.
Meanwhile, the slightly higher end Aspire Switch 11 V brings together a 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 IPS display and is powered by a 0.8 GHz Intel Core M-5Y10c dual-core quad-thread processor. Memory-wise, the Switch 11 V is equipped with 4 GB DDR3L memory and 60 GB solid state drive.
Just like One 10, the Switch 11 V comes with Windows 10 Home and has up to 8 hours of battery life courtesy of its 4,550 mAh 2-cell battery. Equipped with an 1-megapixels camera on its front and 5-megapixels on its back, the I/O port arrangement is also identical to One 10: micro USB 2.0 and micro SD card ports on the tablet alongside USB 3.0 port on the Switch 11 V’s keyboard dock.
In terms of pricing, the Switch 11 V is priced at RM 2,199. Both of the laptops above are now readily available from Acer Malaysia’s authorized dealers.
