OnePlus 2 Camera Compared Against iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6

It seems like OnePlus is very confident of its upcoming flagship’s camera performance. Just recently, the company has released several sample images taken with the OnePlus 2. These are then compared with images shot with the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6; two smartphones that are known for their excellent camera performance. How does the OnePlus 2 compare against these two devices? Not bad, actually.

The images below are taken with the OnePlus 2 and iPhone 6. For these comparisons, OnePlus decided to test out the capabilities of both devices in low-light conditions. The left images are shot with the OnePlus 2, while the right ones are taken with the iPhone 6:

Based on these images, the OnePlus 2 seems to fare better. Its images aren’t as noisy as the iPhone 6’s, and the shots are arguably sharper as well.

The OnePlus 2’s comparison with the Galaxy S6, on the other hand, focused on macro shots. Without further ado, here are the comparisons (same thing here; left are OnePlus 2 shots, right ones are taken with the Galaxy S6):

Needless to say, images taken with the OnePlus 2 are more detailed than the Galaxy S6’s. The colour reproduction seems to be better as well, which is rather interesting. With both the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 comparisons favouring the OnePlus 2, we can’t help but to be a little sceptical of these results.

If these images are not manipulated in any way, however, the OnePlus 2 might have one of the best smartphone cameras. That being said, MKBHD (or Marques Brownlee) still believes that the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 have better cameras. We’ll just have to find out for ourselves once the OnePlus 2 is launched next week on the 28th of July.
