Invite System for the OnePlus 2 is “New and Improved”

Previously, OnePlus received a number of criticisms for its invite system. Many consumers complained that it’s too much of a hassle to order their unit of the OnePlus One because of it. While the invite system would still be in place for the OnePlus 2, the young company has made several changes to it. OnePlus claims it will be “significantly easier to get an invite from the very beginning” now.

One of the more notable changes to the invite system is the implementation of a “reservation list”, which will make it much easier to secure a unit of the OnePlus 2. Although details are still light at the time of writing, OnePlus said it will be prioritising its “early forum supporters” for this.

Other than that, the number of invites that will be made available are increased. Seeing how the OnePlus One was well-received by consumers last year, the company is much more confident now. That is why the launch inventory for the OnePlus 2 will be larger compared to the One. Although the actual quantity was not disclosed, OnePlus mentioned it is about 30 to 50 times more than last year’s inventory.

Just like last year’s invite system, every purchase of the OnePlus 2 will be accompanied by more invites that can be shared with other people. This time around, however, the extra invites will arrive much faster.

With all these new changes, OnePlus is hoping that consumers will be happy with the “new and improved” invite system. However, seeing how Malaysians were not able to order through the invite system last year, it will be interesting to see if things will be different this year.
