Maxis LTE Network Speedometer

Maxis recently launched a website to demonstrate how reliable their 4G LTE network is. Available at this link, the website shows the average internet speed right now, and the speed across various places around the country.

Just a few weeks back, Maxis started a campaign showing off that its 4G LTE network speed is reliable and provides a consistent speed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Maxis says that they are “the only telco that test our 4G performance all across the country, all throughout the day”.

To demonstrate their 4G performance, the telco now has a website that shows not only the average LTE speed as a whole in the country, but also in specific locations like KLCC, Jalan Tun Ismail 1 in Kuantan, Queensbay Mall in Penang, Danga Bay in Johor Bahru, and more.

The speeds displayed are updated every 3 hours, and if you click into it, you can see the average performance for an entire week. At the time of writing, it looks like Johor Bahru has the strongest LTE performance with an average download speed of up to 33.41Mbps (Taman Molek, JB).

Maxis LTE Network Speedometer Across Malaysia

Maxis has been very aggressive in improving and promoting its network speeds lately. In case you missed it, the telco invited members of the media for a blind drifting experience a couple of weeks back.

The car window and windshield are completely covered, so the driver cannot see what is happening outside at all. A camera is mounted on the hood, and the view will be live streamed right to the smartphone inside the car. The driver will then have to use that view to drift through cones. The result? Well, we all came out alive, thankfully.
