Good news for Maxis SurfMore subscribers, the telco has finally decided to reduce the price of its data add-on, allowing you to get 1GB of data for only RM15. This new price is more than 50% cheaper than what was offered before.
If you check out the MyMaxis app on your Android or iOS device, you will see that the mobile internet passes for SurfMore plans now starts from RM15 for 1GB. There is also a 2GB data add-on option for RM30 a month.
In January this year, Maxis made some rather drastic changes to its SurfMore plans. It removed its 5GB SurfMore75 plan, and increased the price of data add-on plans from RM10, RM15 and RM50 for 500MB, 1GB and 5GB respectively, to RM25 for 500MB and RM35 for 1GB a month. Finally, it looks like the telco has decided to make things a little more affordable again.
The new data add-on price is only available for Maxis SurfMore30 and SurfMore50 plans. The add-on for MaxisONE plan still costs RM30 for 1GB, RM58 for 3GB and RM116 for 6GB. For those who do not require so much data, the daily passes are still available for purchase at RM5 for 500MB and RM2 for 100MB a day.
Do note that Maxis is still offering a wide range of data add-on options on its MyMaxis app, so make sure you select the correct internet passes because the regular mobile internet 1GB volume pass still costs a whopping RM48 a month. Check out Maxis now for more information.
