Vivo X5 Pro

Even though the brand might have been in our market for around a year, the on-going vivo Grand Launch event in Kuala Lumpur has been touted as a new chapter for the company. At the same time, Vivo Malaysia also took the opportunity to officially launch its brand new X5 Pro smartphone for our market.

First revealed to the world last month, the 6.4mm thin X5 Pro features a chassis that is made from a combination of aluminium alloy and stainless steel. Protected with Corning Gorilla Glass on both sides of the phone, it is also equipped with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 which is covered by a sapphire-colored “nano crystal” coating.

Powered by an 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor, the dual-SIM LTE smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM as well as 16GB internal storage. Users are able to extend the storage further with microSD card with capacity of up to 128GB although the card will take over the second SIM slot.

In terms of photography, X5 Pro is equipped with a 13-megapixels sensor and F2.0 sapphire lens for its rear camera while there is also another 8-megapixels F2.4 camera on the front. Since having hi-fi audio is part of Vivo’s mantra, the smartphone also features a custom-made DAC AK4375 audio chip from Cirrus Logic AKM (thanks to riri00 for pointing it out!) to deliver quality audio output.
