Steam “Monster” Summer Sale 2015 Begins; Introduces New (Buggy) Mini Game

The period every PC gamer’s wallet start to get a tad (or a lot) lighter is here. Steam has officially started its 2015 Summer Sale, along with a new mini game dubbed Monster Summer Game that will unlock additional deals on top of the Daily Deals and Flash Sales games. Unfortunately, the mini game isn’t exactly working well.

The Monster Summer Game is basically a clicking browser game where players are required to kill monsters by simply…clicking on them. If you don’t feel like clicking the monsters yourself, you can also just leave the game open in another tab – gold collection and damage to monsters will be automated. While this sound like a pretty neat little game that will definitely slow down productivity in the office (heh), we’re having quite a hard time getting the game to work.

Numerous players have been reporting that the game has been up and down all day. More likely than not, the servers are being overloaded by the sheer amount of players in the game (which is close to two million). That being said, most of the milestones of the Monster Summer Game for today have already been met, with only two more games still locked. We’re pretty certain these will be unlocked by the end of the day though (if the servers hold up).

In any case, we’d advise gamers to hold off from purchasing any game on Steam unless it is on Daily Deals or Flash Sales. The former will be replaced with new games every 24 hours, while the same applies to the Flash Sales every 12 hours now (instead of eight hours in previous sales).

Head on to the Steam store to check out the latest lineup of games on sale. Don’t forget to check out Steam’s new refund policy as well.
