It’s only been a couple of weeks since Xiaomi launched the Mi 4i here in Malaysia and if you haven’t gotten it yet, you may now do so via Maxis and Celcom. The two telcos recently added the latest Xiaomi smartphone to its phone bundles, offering it from as low as RM199 and RM488 respectively.

As always, Maxis is offering the Mi 4i with its MaxisONE plan or MaxisONE plan lite – a 24 months contract applies.

Celcom is offering it with either the most popular Celcom First Basic 38 plan, or for those who need more internet and mobile usage, the telco is also offering it with its First Basic 85 plan. Interestingly though, the telco is offering the device with a 12 months contract so if you’re uncomfortable with being tied up to a plan for 2 whole years, 12 months sounds like a great option.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i is one of the most affordable smartphone in the market right now with a retail price of RM749. It packs some very decent specs under its 5” hood such as a second-generation 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of non-expandable storage.

As always, Xiaomi pays close attention to the camera on its smartphones and even though the Mi 4i isn’t a top-of-the-line flagship smartphone, the Chinese company is still using one of the best cameras available – 13MP f/2.0 Sony IMX 214 camera sensor with five-element lens. The front is equipped with a 5MP f/1.8 shooter with a “selfie-enhancing” mode. Other specs include a generous 3120mAh battery, dual-SIM, dual-LTE and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
