Acer has announced the availability of the Acer Revo One mini computer for the Malaysian market. Powered by an Intel Celeron processor, the Revo One is intended to be a media player with additional capabilities; although there is nothing stopping anyone from using it as a compact workstation instead.
Aside from the Intel Celeron 2957U clocked at 1.4GHz, the Revo One also includes a 500GB HDD and 2GB DDR3 RAM. Interestingly, the original announcement of the Revo One indicated that it would ship with either a Core i3 or i5 processor; which give it plenty of punch for its diminutive size. However, it appears that the version we are getting is the less powerful Celeron variant. There is no word on whether an Intel Core powered Revo One will appear on our shores.
That being said, the connectivity options remain the same. Equipped with 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.0, an SD card reader, HDMI port, mini DisplayPort, LAN port, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, and audio jack the Revo One has no lack of options for connecting to peripherals and displays.
The Acer Revo One retails for RM1099, and is now available at all Acer authorised resellers. Buyers will also receive an Acer exclusive wireless keyboard and mouse with the purchase of the Revo One.
