Need extra internet on your Maxis line? The telco is now offering 500MB of additional data for free when you subscribe for a Mobile Internet pass via its MyMaxis app.
Valid from 18 May to 19 July 2015, all you need to do is purchase a Mobile Internet Pass using Maxis’ MyMaxis app, and Maxis will reward you with 500MB of free data with 30 days validity. Sadly though, one postpaid number can only enjoy the free 500MB once during the promotion period.
The Mobile Internet Passes eligible for the promotion includes Mobile Internet 1 Day (100MB) for RM2, all the way to Monthly Add-On 6GB passes. The passes you see in the app depends on the postpaid plan you are subscribed to:
- Mobile Internet 1 Day, 100MB / 500MB
- One Plan One Time Booster 1GB / 500MB / 200MB
- Mobile Internet 1GB / 500MB / 200MB / 100MB Volume Pass
- SurfMore Monthly Quota 1GB / 500MB
- Mobile Internet 1GB / 500MB / 200MB/ 100MB Bundle
- One-Time Pass (Share) 200MB / 500MB / 1GB
- Monthly Add-On 1GB / 3GB / 6GB

Do note that the 500MB of free data may not be given immediately. Maxis says that it will credit the 500MB to your account within 7 working days so for example, if you purchase a Mobile Internet Pass today until 31 May 2015, you will get your free data by 2 June 2015.
To sign up to the offer, just download and install MyMaxis app on your Android or iOS device. Load the app and sign into your account, and tap on your Mobile Internet Usage. In that menu, simply select “One-Time Pass”, select a pass and confirm your purchase. Once done, all you need to do is wait for Maxis to send you an SMS notification about your free data.
