OnePlus held a fan gathering at Maxis Tower to celebrate its long-awaited official arrival to Malaysian shores. The Maxis Tower was presumably chosen due to the recent partnership between the two companies where Maxis has exclusive rights to the device.

First off, the event started with a small speech where OnePlus and Maxis thanked all the fans who took the time and effort to join this small gathering. As promised, five bamboo cases and five powerbanks were given out randomly to the attendees. The Chinese company then continued talking about what OnePlus went through and what the company did to hasten the process of getting the flagship killer into the South-east Asia region.

A few fans were selected to do a short video interview with the staff from OnePlus. This could be a Malaysian fan gathering video that will be uploaded to their ‘OnePlus Happenings’ playlist on their YouTube page. So for those who attended today’s gathering, do check out the video when it’s up and see if you’re in it.

He also told all who were present to take a selfie at the event, and post it up on Instagram with the hashtag #neversettlemalaysia. Those who gets the most number of likes within the hour will receive a Maxis goodie bag which consists of a tempered glass screen protector, a soft case, and a Maxis powerbank.

While all that was happening, several OnePlus Ones running on Oxygen OS were put on the table, allowing guests to try out the company’s latest software offering for the OnePlus One.

The OnePlus One feels smooth running on Oxygen OS, delivering a fluid Android experience in a 5.5-inch package. However, there were no OnePlus Ones running on Cyanogen 12 exhibited at the event.
