OnePlus has revealed that it will be entering a new product category in April, but beyond that little announcement, there is nothing else that the company has shared. It did, however, mention that the new product will not be a tablet or a smartwatch, which are basically the obvious guesses.
What that leaves us with is a whole lot of room for speculations. Could it be a smartband to go against the extremely affordable Xiaomi Mi Band? Or even a power bank with a unique twist on it? If you’re really imaginative (and wishful), perhaps OnePlus will go all-out and unveil an affordable smart TV.
So far, OnePlus only has one product in its lineup, which is the OnePlus One smartphone. It’s not all that surprising to see it trying to enter a new product category. But considering the fact that it is still a pretty young company, maybe it wouldn’t venture out of the mobile space. More likely than not, the new product that will be somewhat related to mobile devices, such as an earphone or any sort of wearable.
In any case, we would just have to wait until April 2015 to find out just what OnePlus will be unveiling. Hopefully, it will be something worthy of attention.
