What originally started out as a joke, made its way to Kickstarter and is now a serious business down in New York city. The NoPhone Team is now selling its flagship NoPhone through its newly launched online store. As the name implies, buyers are not receiving an actual phone.
The NoPhone is literally not a phone, it only looks like one. The “device” features no battery or electronics, Although it is shatterproof and waterproof. On top of that, the company claims that the NoPhone helps you with phone addiction, and lets you socialise with your friends without the interruption of technology.
Initially started as a prank by founders Van Gould, Ingmar Larsen and Ben Langeveld. However, they then took the idea to Kickstarter and they easily reached their goal within the 15 days of the campaign. Not only that, they even got someone to pledge USD$7,999 (About RM28,640) for a 14K gold-plated NoPhone. Pretty impressive for a phone that does absolutely nothing.
The company now has an online store launched which it offers a celebratory 20% off all orders until 15 March by using the code “20OFF”. They will be able to purchase a discounted piece of plastic from the original whopping price of USD$12 (about RM43) as well as the selfie upgrade which features a reflective mirror sticker for USD$18 (about RM64.50).
