Picafix Launching Soon

Finding a contractor or a handyman is about to get a whole lot easier. Picafix, a web application that connects you to SSM-registered contractors and handymen, is launching soon. If you are a handyman or contractor, or know of anyone who is, Picafix is also open for registration right now.

Founded by three ambitious Malaysians – Sunny Khiani, Hasrimy and Laura Low, Picafix’s mission is to change the way users and contractors interact. With a platform to go to, users can easily find contractors near them, and pick a suitable one based on the ratings. It also makes it easier for contractors and handymen get more exposure.

Picafix

Picafix currently have about 121 contractors and 65 test users. After months of testing, the portal will be launching soon and is open for registration for both users and contractors – the latter will even RM5 worth of free credits. Users who pre-register with Picafix will be able to view rich videos of contractors talking about their work, with tips on how to hire contractors in their field. Users will also be the first to access price lists of complete projects, upon the launch of the web app.

Are the contractors reliable? According to Picafix, they need to have a SSM-registered company in order to offer their service. On top of that, contractors are verified by the Picafix team via phone interview, and through face-to-face meetings. Finally, contractors are rated based on the price charged, quality of work, and on-time performance.

So how does it work? Register with Picafix via Facebook or Email, and provide a phone number for verification purposes. Once done, users can then locate contractor or handyman service in their location, and contact contractors directly. As for contractors, they can easily view users who have attempted to contact them on Picafix Contractor Management page.

Know of anyone who is a contractor, or think that this will come in really handy the next time a pipe leaks at home? Visit Picafix now to register and be the first to know when it launches officially.
