Oppo Malaysia today has confirmed that it will be releasing the Limited Edition Gilded Oppo R5 into the market this coming Valentine’s Day. If you wondering why this particular device looked rather familiar, that is because it was actually on display during the global launch event of Oppo R5 in October 2014.
In general, there are no difference between the Limited Edition Gilded Oppo R5 and the standard silver-colored Oppo R5 which was released in Malaysia two months ago. Nevertheless, Oppo claimed that the gold finish on the Limited Edition Gilded Oppo R5 requires more elaborate process that the standard silver variant of the 4.85mm thin smartphone.
If you need a refresher, the R5 is equipped with a 5.2-inch full HD AMOLED display alongside Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 8-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage. It also comes with Sony Exmor IMX214 13-megapixels sensor and F2.0 lens on its rear camera as well as 5-megapixels sensor and F2.0 wide angle lens on the front camera.
In addition to that, the output from these two camera are processed through the company’s own Pure Image Plus 2.0 technology. Not to forget, the R5 also features a 2000mAh non-removable battery together with the support for VOOC fast charging technology.
Meanwhile, Oppo Malaysia has yet to reveal the pricing for the Limited Edition Gilded Oppo R5 at the moment. Nevertheless, the company has stated that there will only be a handful of them around which means that you might want to rush out to Oppo’s authorized retailers on 14 February if you planning to have your hands on it.
