Maxis surfmore plan updates 29 january 2015

If you’ve been wanting to sign up with Maxis’ SurfMore 75 data-centric postpaid plan, you better do it fast because effective 29 January 2015, the plan will no longer be available for new subscribers. On top of that, they will also remove voice add-on plan for SurfMore subscribes, as well as revise the price for SurfMore data upgrades.

According to the FAQ page, “Effective 29 January 2015, SurfMore 75 plan is no longer available for new subscribers”. This means that starting on that date, you will no longer be able to subscribe to SurfMore 75 or port over to that plan. If you are currently subscribed to the plan, you will not be affected however, if you switch to another plan, you will not be able to switch back.

In addition to that, Maxis will also be removing the voice add-on plan for all SurfMore subscribers. Introduced about a year ago, SurfMore voice add-on bundle offered 120 minutes of calls for only RM12/month – that’s equivalent to 10sen/min as opposed to the regular call charges at 12sen/min onnet and 20sen/min offnet. SMS add-on (120SMS for RM6/month) is still available.

Finally, Maxis also revised the price of data add-on for its SurfMore users. “In March statement and onwards”, SurfMore data upgrades will be adjusted to RM25 for 500MB and RM35 for 1GB. On top of that, the telco is offering additional 1GB and 2GB respectively for free for 3 months for those who subscribe to a data-add on before 29 January 2015.
