Samsung will be bringing the “most seductive” line of smart TVs to the market this year with the new SUHD line. As promised before, these will be powered by Samsung’s own Tizen operating system; which brings a new range of apps and features.

There will be three series of SUHD TVs coming from Samsung, each featuring a screen size from 48- to 88-inches. These will be designed to be 2.5 times brighter than regular TVs, although that may not actually be a good thing. Those who like the bright, over saturated colours on Samsung smartphones will be right at home here. Samsung is also claiming that its nano-crystal semiconductors will provide more accurate colours, and allow for 64-times more colour expression than conventional TVs.

Movie content will be available with partners like Amazon, Comcast, and M-GO. A UHD movie download service will also be included with each of the SUHDs, making it easier to get 4K content. That being said, it is unlikely that this feature will make it to our country.

As expected, the Smart TV will be able to sync with other Samsung mobile devices to display things like the time, weather, and calendar. A feature called Briefing on TV will also allow the SUHD TV to act as a giant alarm clock.

There is no word on when these new SUHD TVs will be made available, or even what they will cost when they appear. Nobody is sure what the ‘S’ in SUHD is supposed to stand for either.
