Honor 7 Shown in Teaser Video; Launching on 30th June 2015

Honor has just released a teaser video of its upcoming smartphone, the Honor 7. In the video, we can see several glimpses of the phone, which revealed a few features of the device, such as a metal frame and a new button design.

Unfortunately, the teaser video is rather short, not to mention the Honor 7 was only shown in a few frames. What is obvious, however, is the fact that the smartphone will have a metal frame like its predecessor, the Honor 6. It also has a new power button and volume rocker which are very similar to the ones found on the new Huawei P8.

Interestingly, when the Honor 7 is placed on a table in the beginning of the video, there seems to be a noticeable amount of “lift”. This could suggest a curved back panel, which could be similar to the back design of the Asus ZenFone 2. If this turns out to be true, it should improve the ergonomics of the phone – not that its predecessor was uncomfortable to hold.

In terms of specification, the Honor 7 is rumoured to be packed with a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, a new – and presumably faster chipset than the one powering the Huawei P8 – HiSilicon Kirin 935 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation, and Emotion UI 3.1 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. An earlier teaser also suggests that it will be equipped with a fingerprint sensor as well.

The Honor 7 will be officially announced on the 30th of June 2015. Until then, take these rumoured specifications with a grain of salt. If you’d like to check out the teaser video for yourself, you can do so here.
