Its arrival has been rumored for quite some time and the company has actually showed the chip on stage at the recent Computex 2015 in Taipei but it is only today that AMD has finally taken the stage to officially reveal its brand new GPU, previously codenamed as “Fiji”.

Interestingly though, the new GPU will not only form the foundation of just one flagship graphics card but it will actually be part of four different models altogether: Radeon R9 Fury X, R9 Fury, R9 Nano, and a yet to be named Radeon Fury graphics card that will feature two Fiji GPU.

Despite having four different graphics cards, AMD focuses more on R9 Fury X during its presentation earlier today. According to President and CEO of AMD, Dr Lisa Su, R9 Fury X is able to deliver 1.5 times more performance per watt as compared to the company’s previous flagship single GPU card, the R9 290X. It is also hard to miss the R9 Fury X since it comes standard with a closed-loop liquid cooling solution from Cooler Master, complete with its own 120 x 120 mm fan and radiator.

Furthermore, Dr Lisa mentioned that the R9 Fury X still able to perform even at resolution as high as 5K. Additionally, the graphics card is also built with a user customizable feature called GPU Tach measures the GPU load and display it through a set of LEDs on the card. Here is the specifications of R9 Fury X, as derived from AMD’s official website:

While AMD hardly talked about it, next in the line after R9 Fury X will be the R9 Fury graphics card which will be made available in both liquid and air cooled variants. It will then followed by Radeon R9 Nano which is even shorter than R9 Fury X at only 6 inch and is air-cooled with a single fan thermal solution but apparently able to deliver twice the performance per watt as compared to R9 290X.

Last but not least, AMD Radeon Fury family will also be graced with a yet to be named dual-GPU graphics card very soon. However, the company didn’t reveal the actual specifications for these graphics card though.

In terms of public availability, R9 Fury X is scheduled for release on 24 June with a price tag of USD 649 (RM 2,432) while the R9 Fury will be on sale on 14 July for USD 549 (RM 2,057). As for R9 Nano and Radeon Fury dual GPU graphics card, no prices have been mentioned but they are expected to be ready for consumers in summer and fall this year respectively.

[UPDATE 1 – 1038AM]: AMD didn’t show this during its initial conference, only to reveal it at a later presentation. So, this is how the dual Fiji GPU Radeon Fury graphics card looks like (without a thermal solution though).
