Ahead of its possible Computex 2015 unveiling next month, two new Asus tablets have been leaked. Both tablets carry the new ZenPad branding, which indicates that the Taiwanese company is bringing the Zen naming convention to its range of tablets as well.
First up is the ZenPad 7. In terms of specification, it has a 1024 x 600 IPS display (which could possibly be a 7-inch panel if we go by Asus’ previous naming convention), an Intel Atom x3 processor, 1GB of RAM, and two choices of internal storage: 8GB and 16GB. Based on these hardware, the ZenPad 7 is definitely an entry-level tablet.
The other Asus tablet that has been leaked in an FCC report is much beefier in almost every aspect. Dubbed the ZenPad 8, it is said to have a similar design to the ZenPad 7. Hardware-wise, it has an 8-inch 2048 x 1536 display, an Intel Atom Z3560 or Z3530 processor, 2GB of RAM, and four choices of internal storage from 8GB up to 64GB.
Based on the limited leaked information, there will also be a 3G variant of the ZenPad 7, but it was not mentioned if the same goes for the ZenPad 8. Interestingly, a microSD card slot will reportedly be featured in the ZenPad 7 as well, while it remains unknown if the ZenPad 8 storage is expandable (although it’s very likely to be the case).
As for how much these two Asus ZenPad tablets will cost, only the ZenPad 7 prices have been leaked. The WiFi model will cost 139 euro (about RM565), while the 3G variant will go for 159 euro (approximately RM649). More details on these ZenPad tablets should be available as we approach closer to Computex 2015.
