At around the same time that we received the official invite for the official launch of Samsung’s latest Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, Maxis also made a few interesting announcements in its latest teaser on its Facebook page.
First up, Maxis’ teaser confirms that the new Galaxy smartphones will be listed and available to order at the telco’s online store on 3 April, just one day after the official Malaysian launch event. We’re checking with Maxis whether this will be a pre-order or an immediate purchase, and will be updating this post when we get a response. With Samsung announcing that the global availability is set at 10 April, it is likely that customers will still have to wait at least a week before the devices are delivered.
(Update @ 7:06pm, 23 March) Our source at Maxis has revealed that the device listings are for pre-order, with no comment on actual availability.
In addition, the first 1,000 shoppers to place an order will receive a screen protector and wireless charger (both worth a total of RM280) for free.
On top of that, customers who purchase the S6 edge with Maxis will also be able to purchase the Emerald Green colourway. Maxis will be the only telco to be offering this colour option, which is available only to the Galaxy S6 edge. Of course, Malaysians should be able to purchase them from Samsung outlets nationwide.
