Say whatever you want about Xiaomi but you can’t deny the fact that the Chinese company has made quite an impact not only in Malaysian market but also in the global smartphone market by being the third biggest manufacturer in the world without even leaving Asia. So, what’s next?
Well, the company has yet to reveal its next product in the pipeline but at least now we finally know when it will be announced to the world: January 2015.
This revelation is one of the main point in a brief statement (shown above) made by Lei Jun and Bin Lin, both being the co-founders of Xiaomi as well as CEO and VP of the company respectively. The statement has also mentioned that the fledging technology company has managed to raise USD 1.1 billion during its latest round of funding and Xiaomi is now being valued at USD 45 billion.
Even though they have stated that the product that will be revealed next month is a “flagship” product, the statement didn’t actually specify the nature of the new device. Hence, the possibilities are rather endless at this moment since it could be something that Xiaomi is already known for such as smartphones, tablet, and TV or a totally new product category such as action camera, and even laptop.
Knowing how Malaysians love their Xiaomi products, we are definitely monitoring this development closely. Then again, January 2015 is just a few days away…
