On 3 December 1994, the original Sony PlayStation console made its debut in Japan and provided the foundation for Sony to make its mark in video games world. Twenty years on, PlayStation is still here and most probably will still be around for years to come.
To mark the occasion, the company has announced the special PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition pack which will be released in limited unit throughout the world.
Draped in the same Original Grey paintjob as per the first PlayStation, only 12300 units will be made available globally and each of these consoles are individually numbered. However, there is one catch though: Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong (SCEH) who is responsible for all things PlayStation in South East Asia has yet to reveal its release date in Malaysia.
Given its limited release nature, SCEH also has yet to announce the amount of units that have been reserved for Malaysia. In fact, we believe that the release of the PS4 20th Anniversary Edition in South East Asia will be very different from previous PS4 releases since SCEH will be making an announcement regarding the special pack at tomorrow’s Anime Festival Asia 2014 press conference.
Nevertheless, SCEH has confirmed that the pack which includes the console, PS Camera, a DualShock 4 controller and vertical stand will be priced at RM 1779 for Malaysia.
