Maxis Now Offering Two New Smartphones with its Postpaid Plans – HTC Desire 516 and Sony Xperia M2 Aqua

Maxis Offering HTC Desire 516 and Sony Xperia M2 Aqua

Need a mid-range smartphone that doesn’t cost you a kidney or two? Maxis has just added two mid-range smartphones to its device bundle, offering the HTC Desire 516 from as low as RM0 and the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua from as low as RM399.

Sign up for a 24 months contract under one of the MaxisONE plan and get the HTC Desire 516 for free or the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua from RM399. MaxisONE comes packed with data and unlimited calls/SMS.

Maxis Sony Xperia M2 Aqua and HTC Desire 516 Plans

Retailing at RM599, the HTC Desire 516 is a mid-range smartphone that features a 5” HD display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of expandable storage on board. Other specs include 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 1950mAh battery, and runs on Android 4.2.2 out of the box.

The Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is slightly more powerful than the Desire 516. Announced earlier this year, the M2 Aqua is a mid-range water-resistant smartphone that just landed in Malaysia a few weeks back. It is identical to the Sony Xperia M2 except that it features a water and dust resistant design. It packs a 4.8” qHD display with a pretty poor pixel density of 230ppi. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 graphics on board. Other specs include 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera with Sony’s suite of creative Xperia camera apps, LTE connectivity, 2300mAh battery, NFC, and runs on Android 4.4 out of the box.
