IFA 2014 may have just ended but it looks like Sony has already opened up preorders for most of the products they announced at the show. The preorder has been available since the day of the announcement but unfortunately, they are open in a few selected countries only. While Malaysia is not part of the list, at least the preorder can shed some light on the price of their upcoming products – Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, QX Lens-style camera, and more.
The preorder is available in selected countries including France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom. The price varies across these countries but as a preorder promotion, those who sign up for the offer are entitled to purchase selected accessories at a very, very low price from as low as £0.01 or €0.01.

These prices may sound a little over the roof but bear in mind that prices in Europe are generally more expensive. I’m not sure about the price at launch, but back in May, the Xperia Z2 was selling at £599 on Sony Mobile UK’s website, so £549 is actually cheaper. The price of the Xperia Z2 in Malaysia when it was first launched was RM2,399 so if Sony is following the trend, let’s hope they lower the price for our region as well!
For something a little closer to home, you can now register your interest with Sony Mobile Malaysia for selected products including the Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, and Z3 Tablet Compact. Meanwhile, if you don’t wish to get the Xperia Z3, the Xperia Z2 in Malaysia is now slightly cheaper at RM2,199.
