UPDATE (1 July, 949PM): The new 16GB iPod Touch model with iSight rear camera is now available at Apple Malaysia’s online store. Availability and pricing info for the model has been added to this article.
Yesterday, Apple has announced that the company has reduced the pricing for its 5th generation iPod Touch with 32GB and 64GB storage. It wasn’t implemented immediately for Apple Malaysia’s online store but it turns out that customers don’t have to wait long for that to happen as the new price for the device has finally been revealed at the store.
For 32GB model in Malaysia, the new price is now RM 899 as opposed to the original price tag of RM 1049. As for the 64GB model, it now goes for RM 1079; way lower that its launch price of RM 1399. At the time this article is published, the store stated that both variants are available for shipment within 24 hours after an order is placed by customers.
Unfortunately, the new version 16GB iPod Touch (now with 5-megapixels iSight rear camera and more colour options) is still not available at Apple Malaysia’s online store. However, the original 16GB iPod Touch is also listed as “currently unavailable” at the store. So, it is not clear if Apple will actually release the new version or will cease to offer the 16GB model altogether in Malaysia. UPDATE (1 July, 949PM): The new 16GB model with 5-megapixels iSight camera and more color options has finally arrived at Apple Malaysia’s online store with a price tag of RM 729.
