Some of you may already know it, but Xiaomi Malaysia is ready to bring in its next devices to Malaysia. The company has hinted before that the Redmi 1S is coming to Malaysia, and it has now announced that the Redmi Note is following hot on the Redmi 1S’ heels.

The Redmi Note that will be coming to Malaysia is the company’s “enhanced” variant, featuring twice the amount of RAM and a faster-clocked processor compared to the original variant. Besides that, both variants will sport the same set of hardware: 5.5-inch 720p IPS display, 13MP rear and 5MP front camera sensors, 8GB of internal storage, and a 3200mAh removable battery.

In terms of pricing, Xiaomi has noted that it will reveal the retail prices of both the Redmi 1S and the Redmi Note for the Malaysian market at noon on June 25 – that’s next Wednesday. Of course, Xiaomi’s Hugo Barra also mentioned that the prices will not stray too far away from the what they are retailing in China; rounded up “to the nicest 9 ringgit”, as Barra puts it, referring to the company’s products sold in Malaysia.

Hence, given that both the Redmi 1S and the Redmi Note is priced at 799 and 999 Chinese Yuan in its home market, the price of both the devices should hover around the RM415 to RM515 mark, based on today’s conversion rates. Either way, the confirmed prices will be revealed pretty soon.

The first Redmi Note coming to Malaysia will be the white version, with colourful back covers to be made available soon after. In addition, Xiaomi Malaysia has also confirmed that a second, all-white version of the Redmi 1S will be coming to Malaysia after the matte grey variant. However, the company did not reveal an exact time frame for the white Redmi 1S’ release.

[Update] Xiaomi Malaysia’s official website has introduced its own “Guess the Price” contest for the Redmi Note, offering Mi fans to win F-codes for the Redmi Note if they can guess the correct retail price.
