The sequel to the highly rated Tomb Raider game from 2013 has been revealed. Titled Rise of the Tomb Raider, the game continues Lara Croft’s journey as she attempts to deal with the events of the previous game. There is no gameplay in the trailer, although it does create a good place for the game to start from.
Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced at Microsoft’s conference at E3, and only the Xbox One has been confirmed as one of the platforms available. It is unlikely that this game will be exclusive to one console, so we expect it will at least be out for the PC and PlayStation 4. With the next generation consoles already widespread, it is unlikely for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to be getting any more tomb raiding action.
A comic series written by Gail Simone will serve as a prequel to Rise of the Tomb Raider, and is currently being published by Dark Horse comics.
