Finally, it is ready. Two weeks ago, after Xiaomi Malaysia’s official launch event, we sat down with both Hugo Barra (Xiaomi Global VP) and Xiaomi’s co-founder Bin Lin for a wide-ranging chat on Xiaomi, its unique approach and of course, accusations of being an “Apple clone”.
While it is a pretty long interview, we had a lot of fun conducting it as both Hugo and Bin Lin gave responses that were particularly refreshing, with lots of information regarding the industry put into the mix. For example, in one of our questions, Bin Lin broke down the costs that come into the picture when pricing a smartphone, and how Xiaomi can price its smartphones at almost a third of the competition.
