With everyone on the selective focus/UFocus/Background Defocus bandwagon these days, it’s hard to be content when you have a 1 generation old smartphone without the ability to throw some mad bokeh on your photos. For Sony, that’s not a problem because it has just released its Background Defocus App (A functionality on their Z2) for their handsets. This supports all Sony handsets with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or later. Sony says you will get the best results if your subject is 15-45cm away and the background is 5m further than the subject.
