In an interview with Reuters, Samsung’s Senior VP for Product Strategy, Han Kil Yoon has confirmed that they will be releasing an Android Wear smartwatch and “high-end” Tizen based Smartphone this year. This is almost eerily similar to last year when those plans did not come through due to “poor market conditions”. Samsung have said that they will be concentrating their efforts mainly in “a few countries they can do well in”.
If this is to be believed we will be getting a high end Tizen phone by the end of june and the Android Wear watch by the end of the year. I for one will be excited to see what the combination of Android Wear and perhaps a curved display will bring!
