Nokia Lumia 630

Part of the new Windows Phone 8.1 devices that were announced at the recent Microsoft Build Developer Conference, Nokia Lumia 630 is the first device in the ecosystem to feature dual-SIM capability. The Finnish company has stated its intention to launch the device in Asian region next May and guess what: it just popped up in SIRIM’s database.

The freshly listed device is registered under Nokia Malaysia as well as its two main distributor, Zitron and Avaxx. It is registered as the RM-978 which is the same model number that has appeared on US-based FCC database last month. That being said, we not able to directly confirm the model number since Nokia has yet to release Lumia 630 Dual SIM’s SAR information of its website.

Judging from SIRIM’s listing, it might be possible that the single SIM variant of Lumia 630 will not be released in Malaysia since the RM-978 is listed as a dual-SIM device. Of course, we will only able to know that once Nokia Malaysia made the official announcement regarding the availability of Lumia 630.

Powered by 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, the Nokia Lumia 630 Dual SIM is among the first Windows Phone 8.1 device to be released into the market. Not only that, we also expect it to be priced at somewhere under RM 600 which will make it quite affordable for local consumers.

Meanwhile, the higher-end Lumia 930 has yet to appear on SIRIM’s database. Judging from its global roll-out date somewhere in July, it might be too early for the device to appear on that database though.
