A surprise invite has just arrived inside our mail box: a press invite from Sony Mobile to an upcoming media event in Jakarta, Indonesia on 5 March. Given the date, there is a possibility that the event might be a showcase for Sony Mobile’s latest product from Mobile World Congress 2014.
Judging from the invite, the product that will be shown at the event most probably involved a water-resistant product which is already a common feature in many existing Sony Xperia devices. Could it be the much rumoured Sirius a.k.a Xperia Z2? All in all though, we have no idea on what this particular press event at Jakarta will be about at this moment.
That being said, this is not the first time that Sony Mobile has organized a regional media event shortly after its global event. As you can recall, the Sony Xperia Z1 was officially announced for South East Asia in a regional media event at Kuala Lumpur – just hours after the device was first unveiled at IFA 2013 in Berlin.
Well, let’s see what Sony Mobile has to show us in few weeks time.
