Free internet roaming on U Mobile started off with only 7 countries but U Mobile has recently added in two new countries – Australia and India. India is limited to postpaid users for the moment, but U Mobile says that prepaid users who travel to India in the future will be able to enjoy free internet as well though, no specific timeline was mentioned. The list of countries with free internet roaming for U Mobile prepaid users include Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
No subscription is required, just top up a minimum of RM50, and you will get 50MB of free data everyday for 30 days – that’s 50MB each day for 30 days from the date the top up is made. Do make sure you are connected on the right network in the country.
But do be careful though, to enjoy the free internet roaming with U Mobile Prepaid, you will have to activate data roaming on your mobile device. Once you exceed the 50MB daily quota, you will be charged at a pay-per-use basis, which could sum up to as much as RM30/day in those countries.
