ASUS Introduces Republic of Gamers G551 Gaming Notebook In Malaysia

ASUS Republic of Gamers G551 Gaming Laptop

After making a stealthy appearance at Computex 2014 earlier this year, the new ASUS Republic of Gamers G551 gaming notebook is now in Malaysia. Available in two different variants, the G551 serves as the latest entry point to RoG series with the help of its starting price tag of RM 3,499.

Inside its 31.5 mm black coloured chassis that is also decorated with red accent marks in selected areas of the laptop, the RoG G551 is powered by an Intel Core i7-4710HQ processor alongside the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M GPU that handles all the graphical task for its 15.6-inch full HD display. Weighing at 2.7kg, the laptop also comes together with a 1TB 5400rpm hard drive and supports up to 16GB worth of RAM.

In additional to its backlit keyboard (in red, nevertheless), the RoG G551 comes complete with up to four USB 3.0 ports as well as a Gigabit LAN port, HDMI 1.4 port, mini DisplayPort, SD/MMC card reader and combo audio jack. To complete the package, ASUS has also equipped with RoG G551 with built-in stereo speakers that have been tuned by Bang & Olufsen’s ICEpower division and can be tweaked further through MaxxAudio sound enhancement software.

As mentioned before, the RoG G551 comes in two variants that are generally differentiated by the amount of RAM and VRAM that they have:’

In terms of pricing the new ASUS RoG G551JM-DM052H is available immediately from ASUS Malaysia for RM 3,499 while the ASUS RoG G551JM-DM053H will be released later this month with a price tag of RM 4,099.
