Benchmark database is without a doubt one of the best places to explore if you wish to know about upcoming devices. A Motorola device with the codename “Shamu”, believed to be the Nexus 6, recently made its way to GFXBench and then on AnTuTu benchmark, with its hardware listed out, showing off a Snapdragon 805 processor and more impressive specs under its hood.
The Motorola Shamu first appeared in GFXBench scoring results that are similar to other flagship smartphones in the market like OnePlus One, Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2 and HTC One M8. When discovered, GFXBench did not list out the specs, so the device was believed to be powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor found on the other flagship smartphones. However, shortly after, the hardware list was published into AnTuTu benchmark, giving quite a bit of a surprise.
First up, the Nexus 6 will sport a 5.2” QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 – that’s smaller than the Quad HD display on the LG G3 and Oppo Find 7 which could only mean one thing – a much sharper display. Beneath that will be a Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.65Ghz with 3GB of RAM and will use an Adreno 420 as its graphics processor. It’ll sport a 13MP rear camera and a 2.1MP front camera, and will, of course, run on Android L out of the box.
If you give GFXBench a look now, the specs have been listed out and everything is pretty much the same as what AnTuTu published. According to GFXBench’s hardware list, the Nexus 6 should have 32GB of internal storage, and a rear camera that is capable of capturing 4k videos.
