Sony Mobile has unveiled the new Xperia T3 Android smartphone, which the company touts as “slimmest 5.3-inch smartphone in the world”. Featuring a stainless steel chassis, the Xperia T3 also promises to retain the sleek and durable design and build quality that Sony has been maintaining in recent times.
The Sony Xperia T3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.4GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM, and features 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB cards. Imaging properties of the smartphone include an 8MP rear camera with Exmor RS for Mobile and a run-of-the-mill 1.1MP front-facing camera. In front, there’s a 5.3-inch 720p Triluminos display powered by Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. This LTE-enabled smartphone is also running on Android 4.4 with Sony’s UI skin.

This 148g device also sports a slim 7mm silhouette, which gives rise to Sony’s claim as the slimmest 5.3-inch smartphone in the world – not that there are plenty of smartphones in that size. Coincidentally, this mid-range smartphone is pretty much similar in specs to the Malaysian-made Ninetology U9Z1T, with the only obvious differences being the screen size and of course, dimensions and weight.
The Sony Xperia T3 will be available globally from July 2014. Pricing details will vary according to market.
