MWC 14: Huawei MediaPad X1

Besides the flagship Ascend P7, it also looks like Huawei will be announcing at least two more devices at its “mega event” next week. Our friends at Storekini have just been informed that stocks for the Huawei Honor 3X smartphone and the MediaPad X1 tablet will be coming soon, and is now available for pre-order.

The Huawei MediaPad X1 is one of the many devices announced by Huawei back at MWC 2014 earlier this year. It is the company’s premium tablet, featuring a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS display, with a pixel density of 321ppi and boasting a 80% screen-to-body ratio. Encased in a full aluminium unibody shell, the new Huawei MediaPad X1 weighs only around 239g and features a sleek physical profile with a thickness of only 7.18mm.

Powering the MediaPad X1 is Huawei’s on HiSilicon Kirin 910 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB cards. This tablet also supports LTE Cat 4, and even features a 13MP Sony Exmor camera sensor at the back, with an f/2.2 5-element lens and hybrid IR flash. In front, this tablet also packs a 5MP f/2.4 camera sensor. Huawei also claims that the 5000mAh battery in the MediaPad X1 has a standby time of up to 21 days, and even supports reverse charging (letting the tablet charge other devices), making it a very powerful all-round tablet.

On the other hand, the Huawei Honor 3X is the larger sibling to the very popular Honor 3C. Featuring a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display with a 267ppi pixel density, the Honor 3X is powered by a MediaTek MTK6592 1.7GHz octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM. This 8.9mm thin smartphone, which weighs 162g, has 16GB of internal storage, with support for a further 64GB via its microSD card slot. This dual-SIM device, which does not support 4G networks, sports 13MP rear and 5MP front camera sensors. Finally, there’s a 3000mAh lithium-ion battery powering the Honor 3X, which comes in two colours (black and white).

Don’t forget, the flagship Ascend P7 is also available for pre-order at Storekini too, at only RM1388 – check out the pre-order page here for more.
