It looks like the team behind is Google is hard at work, preparing for the Google I/O event that will be happening next week, 15 May 2013. Google has now been reported to be working on a new interface for Google Maps, which brings a cleaner and bigger map.
According to screenshots revealed by the unofficial Google System Blog, the side bar on current Google Maps have been removed to allow for a full-screen map. The new design also brings better integration with Google’s very own social networking service – Google+, with the ability to restrict local search results to places recommended by top reviews or your Google+ circles.
This is just a rumour of course, there is no confirmation of when Google will, if ever, launch a new design to Google Maps, but with Google I/O around the corner, it makes perfect sense that the internet search giant is preparing all major announcements for that date.
