In addition to the numerous devices launched today, Apple has also announced that its new desktop OS, OS X Mavericks, is now available. Amazingly, Apple is offering Mavericks as a free download for all current OS X users, as far back as the 2007 iMac and MacBook Pro.
The move is seen is a salvo to its biggest competitor, Microsoft, which sold its Windows 8 Pro OS last year for $199, with no affordable alternative to users older versions of Windows looking to upgrade. Even better, OS X Mavericks is available for download from today.
