4K Technology for the mainstream consumer hasn’t been all that accessible for the longest time with money printers benefitting from the launch of the 84inch 4K LED TV last year. While the rest of us 1%-ers look on wondering if we even have enough space to put such a huge TV in our homes, Sony have taken that step to make 4K the HD LED TV of the future – the standard in every home. We were in Tokyo recently to have a first look at the new 55 and 65inch 4K LED TV’s and safe to say it was not just the picture that was clearer, but the experience was something completely different.

Named the KD-X9004A series, the new 4K LED TV’s feature the brand new Triluminos display that is present on a smaller scale in the Xperia Z Ultra, with a mindblowing resolution of 3840×2160. On top of that, the new TV’s also come with the 4K X-reality PRO processing engine that reduces visual noise and also corrects image shapes but most importantly scales up 2K content to near 4K native resolution.

To complete the whole viewing experience, Sony have also integrated a proprietary Magnetic Fluid Speaker technology to deliver richer sound that is higher than what the conventional TVs can produce. Not only is the sound fuller than usual, it outputs sound comparable to some hi-fi systems. To top it all off, the Sony 4K LED TVs will feature WiFi technology and is compatible with NFC letting you mirror your NFC enabled smartphone with just One Touch. Putting it all together in one very impressive looking wrapper is Sony’s forte and the 4K LED TV is no different. The seamless design looks amazing in your living room and dare I say is possibly the best looking TV out there now.
