Maxis Hotlink this morning introduced the #Hotlink, a brand new prepaid plan from the company that keeps you connected all the time, yes, that means free internet. The #Hotlink is the first prepaid in Malaysia to offer free basic internet to users to stay connect, anytime and anywhere, with no pay-per-use charges. On top of that, it also offers cheap high-speed internet, flat call and SMS rates, and top up bonus.

“In today’s mobile internet environment, constant connectivity is no longer a luxury but a necessity. With #Hotlink, what we are essentially offering is an “always connected” experience. It is a simple, flexible plan that is relevant to the needs of our prepaid community. This paln represents a new category of mobile internet usage, which eliminates the current high entry barrier since there are absolutely no pay-per-use charges. Therefore, we are extremely excited at the prospects of #Hotlink as it is an ideal product that is aimed at widening access to the internet.” – Dushyan Vaithiyanathan, Maxis’ Head of Consumer Business.

The new #Hotlink is available immediately at any Hotlink Dealer or Maxis Center at only RM8.80 for a starter pack that comes with RM5 of preloaded airtime. Customers can enjoy the following new benefits:

  • Free basic internet at 64Kbps. Do note that the free internet only offers 64Kbps connection speed but although that is very little, it should be enough for you to stay connected to receive messages on Whatsapp, Line, etc, send and receive emails, and all your basic internet needs. The free basic internet does not limit you to the services you use but at such a slow speed, there are only so much you can do.
  • Low flat rates to all networks. Maxis Hotlink has also revised its call and SMS rates on the new #Hotlink prepaid pack. Call charges are only RM0.12 for 30 seconds while SMS are charged at RM0.07/SMS to all network.
  • High speed internet for RM1 a day. For those of you who require high speed internet, all you need is just RM1/day to stay connected. You can also opt to sign up for a monthly high speed data at RM30/month for 1GB of data.
  • Top-up bonus. The new #Hotlink plan will reward customers with up to 8% of free airtime once every two months. The amount will be based on customer’s cumulative top-up amount
