While the Microsoft Surface RT Malaysian launch event will only take place later this evening, the official Malaysian site for the tablet is now already online. With that, the actual pricing for the Windows RT tablet is available for all to see.
According to the site, the stand-alone Microsoft Surface RT tablet with 32GB internal storage is priced at RM 1,549 while the 64GB variant goes for RM 1,849. If bundled with Touch Cover, together they will cost RM 1,849 and RM 2,149 respectively. On another hand, the Touch Cover would cost RM 379 if purchased separately. In general, the Malaysian pricing is definitely lower than Singapore and surprisingly not that far off from United States.
The site has also listed pricing for other Surface accessories as well such as the HD Digital AV Adapter and VGA Adapter which are priced identically at RM 159. There’s also the 24W power supply which costs RM 149 and the RM 409 Type Cover for those who prefer the classic tactile keyboard with their Microsoft Surface.
The Microsoft Surface RT as well as its accessories come together with 1-year hardware warranty that are also valid in Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand together with 90-days of complimentary tech support. As mentioned earlier, the tablet and accompanying accessories can be obtained at Challenger, Thunder Match and Harvey Norman.
