Samsung has long made fun of the Apple iPhone in their Galaxy smartphone ads, and while pretty funny, there was always a touch of tacky in them (the Samsung and the phone names were mentioned thirteen times in the ads here and here) . Nokia, on the other hand, seems to badly need a huge push in marketing their products; so many devices in the past could have done with some proper marketing (such as the N9 and 808 PureView – both of which were severely overlooked by Nokia themselves).
It’s a good thing then, that an ad for the new Nokia Lumia smartphones is a breath of fresh air. With its cartoonish art design and mild humour aimed at iPhone 5 buyers (the sigh as the customer forks out the cash, and the exaggerated chaos that ensues when the customer requests for a different colour being the highlights), the ad highlights the Lumia’s range of funky colours that stand out from a world where it is all black and “slate grey”.
