Some time back, Lenovo caused quite a stir with the launch of their latest Y series laptop, the Y580. With gaming-grade NVIDIA GTX graphics and the latest Ivy Bridge Core i7 processor, while only retailing at RM3399 and weighing below 3kg in a classy aluminum casing, this was the gaming notebook to get.
Unfortunately, the only drawback was the disappointing display resolution of 1366×768 instead of a full HD. Oddly enough, the full HD version has been on sale in the US for some time now, and Lenovo Malaysia’s Facebook page has, for quite some time, been inundated with requests for a full HD Y580.
Well guys, Lenovo has listened to your relentless calls, and they have officially announced the availability of the refreshed Y580 with a full HD display (although, if one were to check in our forums as well as Lenovo Malaysia’s Facebook page, they have been on sale since yesterday). Retailing at only RM3599, the Y580 is quite possibly the best gaming notebook for those on a budget. Don’t forget, it also has a Blu ray writer as well.
