The anticipation for the iPhone 5 is hotting up in Malaysia with people rabidly waiting to add that extra row of icons to the now pretty small iPhone silhouette. But for some, 4inches is nowhere near enough screen space and getting a Note 2 is out of the question because of iOS loyalty. Fear not new (or potential) iPhone 5 owners, does PopSLATE have a case for you! Slapping on an extra 4inch e-ink display on the rear of your case, it will display any image you send to it, either one by one or as a slideshow. You can even doubletap the screen to flick through them!

Not only that, the guys who created this monster will be releasing an open API so developers can cook up more ways to fully utilize this display. Think about it, a ticker for twitter, Instagram, a notification display or even the Weather can be displayed on the case! The case is charged by the usual lightning connector and is pretty good with conserving power, only needing it when the display changes. The case is also as durable as other cases in the market, borderline indestructible the makers claim. Challenge Accepted?
All in all it sounds like quite an awesome idea and its still in the funding stage. It’s on Indiegogo right now and looking for backers. At time of writing, the popSlate is very close to its goal.
