Microsoft Windows 7 is finally in Malaysia, so expect to find snappier PCs that works the way you want them to on the shelves starting today. Earlier today, Microsoft and partners (Intel, HP, Dell, Acer, DiGi, AMD, Asus and Lenovo) launched the much awaited for operating system in Plaza Low Yat, demonstrating the various new tools that would make you want to upgrade - I know I do now!

This new operating system does not only come with new features to simplify user’s everyday tasks, it also comes with improved accessibilities to help the blind. During the launch, Mr. Moses Choo, Assistant Executive Director of the National Council for the Blind, Malaysia (NCBM) demonstrated the various tools that help him operate a Windows 7 computer despite having visual disabilities.

“With Windows 7 immediately available to all Malaysians nationwide, the everyday PC experience is now better in the ways that consumers have wanted: Simpler, faster, more responsive. So for Malaysians who use Windows, for perhaps as many as 6 million Malaysians who may upgrade their PCs during the course of the next 12 months, we hope that they will appreciate and enjoy it as much as our 8 million beta testers have.” -- Yasmin Mahmood, Managing Director of Microsoft Malaysia.

In conjunction with the launch, Microsoft and partners will be holding launch roadshows at Plaza Lowyat, KL (2 - 8 November), Ikano Power Centre, PJ (4 - 8 November), Gurney Plaza, Penang (6 - 8 November), and City Square, JB (13 - 15 November). Apart from contests and promotions from Microsoft’s partners during the roadshows, Microsoft will be kicking off a Madness Sale with 777 copies of Windows 7 Home Premium (Fully Packaged Product) for sale at 30% off on November 7 at 7pm. You know where to be.
