Panasonic has unveiled a new product under its Technics audio brand. The EAH-A1000 serves as the latest addition to the company’s range of flagship wireless headphones, bringing new acoustic features and some design refinements.
Starting with said acoustic features, the device packs 40mm magnetic fluid drivers, which leverages the brand’s proprietary tech. Previously used in the in-ear EAH-TZ700 and EAH-AZ100, they serve to minimise unwanted vibration and distortion for more precise sound reproduction.
To support the new drivers, the over-ear headphones come with Symmetrical Surround Technology (SST) Edge, which is also featured on the brand’s Hi-Fi flagship speakers. Other than that, the device comes with a carbon fibre diaphragm and a redesigned acoustic path for better airflow, resulting in a clear and balanced sound without overemphasising a specific frequency range.
Naturally, ANC is also on board. This feature is handled by three feed-forward microphones and one feedback microphone on each side. This setup allows the headphones to detect and suppress noise from different directions. Other audio features include Dolby Atmos with head tracking, LDAC support, and lossless playback via USB Audio. The headphones can also pair with up to three devices simultaneously, thanks to multipoint connectivity.
As for battery life, it offers up to 45 hours of continuous playback with ANC enabled. Additionally, the company claims that a quick 15-minute top-up can offer four hours of listening time.
Available in Black and a new Platinum Greige colourway, these new cans feature a reworked Flow Arm. The arm and top panels of the housings are composed of metal, while the ear pads incorporate high-density memory foam. The fit has also been redesigned, with improvements to the ear cup movement range and headband shape, among other things.
In the US, the Technics EAH-A1000 retails for US$449.99 (~RM1,835). At the moment, details on local availability are up in the air.
